Volunteers

Two volunteers who usually manage the wallets and admin on the T.N’s behalf.

The charity is run by volunteers drawn from local communities and records from a studio in the Len Medlock Voluntary Centre, in Boston. Some have previous experience of broadcasting, acting or radio. But most have learned from colleagues. The Boston & South Holland Talking Newspaper recognises the benefits of a diverse range of volunteers and is committed treating them with dignity and respect regardless of race, sex, gender, disability, age, sexual orientation,marriage/civil partnership, religion or belief. Our aim is that our volunteers are representative of all sections of society and that each one feels respected and able to give of their best. All volunteers will be treated fairly and with respect.

It has a team of readers who work to a roster, a Technician who does the recordings, editors who edit news from the local press and an administrator who manages all the wallets. This involves sorting, labelling, cleaning and copying of sticks and some simple admin.

There is also a Committee to make sure it complies with it’s status as a Registered Charity.
